Our Concept
The ABEA offers its students a rigorous curriculum
that prepares students for college, while giving students the
fundamentals of business. The school is located in the newly refurbished
Austin campus facility located at 231 North Pine Street.
In addition to the core curriculum of reading,
math, science, and social studies, the ABEA “Wednesday Enrichment” offer students the
opportunity to hear guest speakers, and attend field trips and seminars.
Along with additional academic tutoring, they participate in small group
activities and have access to local business owners as well as some of
the top business professors and professionals in Chicago.
Our Partnerships
The Austin Business and Entrepreneurship Academy is
a joint effort of American Quality Schools, the Westside Ministers
Coalition, and our corporate sponsor, Allstate Insurance. Co. ABEA also
has
the support of the Austin African American Business Networking
Association and the Austin Chamber of Commerce.
Our Students
The ABEA welcomed its first class of just over 200 students
in the fall of 2006. Over the
next three years one class will be added each year until ABEA has
freshmen, sophomore, juniors and seniors represented in a class body of
600 students total allowing us to have a smaller student body to foster
an environment in which parents, teachers, and students get to know each
other.
